1910 Cottage Finds a New Home on High Street in Comfort, Texas

This charming 1910 cottage has officially found its new home on High Street in Comfort, TX. Once sitting on the corner of Highway 87, the property was a familiar sight for many locals — first serving as a bakery, later becoming a dentist office, and eventually being remodeled into a cozy residence.

When the corner lot was sold, the decision was made to preserve the home’s character by relocating it rather than tearing it down. On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, with the help of the Bandera Electric crew and community support, the house was carefully moved to its new location, where it will continue to add charm and history to Comfort.

Local resident Mark Gonzalez, who has overseen several projects to beautify and preserve Comfort’s historic homes, played a key role in bringing this move to life. His passion for maintaining the unique character of Comfort shines through in projects like this — keeping history alive while giving it new purpose.
